Itinerary

Day 01: Chennai / Chennai local sightseeing.

Upon arrival our BMC HOLIDAYS driver meets and greets you at Chennai Airport, Railway station or any other location in Chennai. Drive to hotel and check in. after some time sightseeing.

  • Egmore Museum: The Government Museum in Chennai is one of the most popular landmarks in the city. It is actually the second oldest museum in India after the Indian Museum in Kolkata and the tenth oldest in the world. It was founded by Scottish surgeon Edward Balfour, an ardent Orientalist who pioneered forest conservation and public health in India. The museum is known as the Pantheon Complex, or “Public Assembly Hall”. It has the largest collection of Roman antiquities outside Europe.
  • Kapaleeshwarar Temple : Kapaleeshwarar Temple is a Hindu templededicated to lord Shiva located in MylaporeChennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The form of Shiva’s consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal is from Tamil (“Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree”). The temple was built around the 7th century CE and is an example of Dravidian architecture.
  • Parthasarathy Temple: The Parthasarathy Temple is a 6th-century Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu in Chennai
  • Guindy National Park: It is a 2.70 km² protected area of Tamil Nadu, located in Chennai, India, is the 8th-smallest National Park of India and one of the very few national parks situated inside a city.
  • Marina Beach: Marina Beach, or simply the Marina, is a natural urban beach in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, along the Bay of Bengal. The beach runs from near Fort St. George in the north to Foreshore Estate in the south, a distance of 6.0 km, making it the second longest urban beach in the world, after Cox’s Bazar Beach.
  • Besant Nagar Beach: Edward Elliot’s Beach, simply called as Elliot’s Beach and popularly known as Besant Nagar Beach or the Bessie, is a natural urban beach located in the Besant Nagar neighbourhood of Chennai.
  • Thiruvanmiyur Beach: Thiruvanmiyur beachis also one of the most quiet and isolated beaches in Chennai, making it ideal to enjoy the stunning view of the sea.
  • Marundeeswarar Temple: Marundeeswarar Temple is a temple dedicated to Hindu deity Shiva, located in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai adjacent to the beach of Bay of Bengal.

Drive to hotel by evening and Overnight Stay in Chennai.

Day 02: Chennai to Mahabalipuram.

After breakfast by 8 am, check out from the hotel and Drive to visit World Heritage place Mahabalipuram.

  • Krishna Mandapa: Mandapa of Krishna or Krishna Mandapam is a monument at Mahabalipuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Kancheepuram district of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram
  • Arjuna’s Penance: Descent of the Ganges, known locally as Arjuna’s Penance, is a monument at Mamallapuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Chengalpattu district of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Measuring 96 by 43 feet, it is a giant open-air rock relief carved on two monolithic rock boulders.
  • Sri Krishna Butter Ball: Krishna’s Butterballis a gigantic balancing rock, granite-boulder resting on a short incline in the historical coastal resort town of Mamallapuram
  • Ganesha Ratha: It is one of ten rathas carved out of pink granite within the group of monuments of the Pallava Period at Mahabalipuram

  • Droupadi Bath: Draupadi’s Bathis situated atop the hill between the Descent of Ganga relief panel and Koneri lake. Like many other monuments of the town
  • Ramanuja Mandapa: Ramanuja Mandapam, Pallave period, 7th century, MahabalipuramRamanuja Cave Temple, also called Ramanuja Mandapam.
  • Light House: This light housegracefully stands near the Mahishasur Mardini Mandapam. Travelers can climb up to the top and can have a beautiful view of Mahabalipuram.
  • Mahishamardini Rock Cut Mandapa: Mahishasuramardhini Mandapa is an example of Indian rock-cut architecture dating from the late 7th century, of the Pallava dynasty. It is a rock-cut cave temple located on a hill, near a lighthouse, along with other caves in Mamallapuram
  • Ishwar Temple: The Olakkannesvara Templeaka Ishwar Temple is in Mahabalipuram town, overlooking the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal in Kancheepuram District in Tamil Nadu, India.
  • Pancha Ratha: Built entirely out of greyish-white granite, the Olakkannesvara Templeis situated on the coast of Coromandel overlooking the Bay of Bengal.
  • Tiger Cave: The Tiger Cave is a rock-cut Hindu temple complex located in the hamlet of Saluvankuppam near Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu, India. It gets its name from the carvings of tiger heads on the mouth of a cave which forms a part of the complex.
  • Sea Shore Temple: The Shore Temple is a complex of temples and shrines that overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is located in Mahabalipuram, about 60 kilometres south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a structural temple, built with blocks of granite, dating from the 8th century AD.
  • Mahabalipuram Beach: Mahabalipuram is known for its golden sandy beach. A striking place bounded by the sparkling sea and rolling hills, Mahabalipuram beach is one of the longest beaches in India.

If time permits u can visit few more place like Mineral Museum, Heritage Museum, Sri Karunakara Perumal Temple, Pearl Museum.

Drive to hotel and overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.

Day 03: Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry.

After breakfast by 9am, check out from the hotel and drive to Pondicherry.
  • Auroville: It is an experimental township in Viluppuram district, mostly in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, with some parts in the Union Territory of Pondicherry in India. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa and designed by architect Roger Anger.
  • Auro Beach: Auro Beachis fantastic and peaceful beach in Pondicherry.
  • Botonical Garden: The Botanical Garden Pondicherryopening time is from 10 AM to 5 PM. It is open on all days, and you can visit it any time of the year.
  • P.J Abdul Kalam Science Centre and Planetarium: Puducherry Science Centre & Planetarium is a public science planetarium. It is located in Lawspet, India. The centre was designed, developed and set up by the National Council of Science Museums. The Science Demonstration Corner conducts live demonstrations and experiments to groups of visitors and students.
  • The Sacred Heart Basilica: Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, situated on the south boulevard of Pondicherry in Puducherry, India, is an oriental specimen of Gothic Revival architecture. It contains rare stained glass panels depicting events from the life of Christ and saints of the Catholic Church.
  • Puducherry Beach: Rock Beach is the popular stretch of beachfront in the city of Puducherry, India, along the Bay of Bengal. It is a 1.2-kilometre-long stretch in Pondicherry, starts from War Memorial and end at Dupleix Park on the Goubert Avenue.
  • Serenity Beach: Serenity Beachis located near Kottakuppam, which is more of a fishing village than a typical tourist attraction on the outskirts of Puducherry.

By evening drive to hotel for overnight stay in Pondicherry.

Day 04: Pondicherry Sightseeing.

After breakfast by 9 am drive to Pondicherry sightseeing.
  • Promenade Beach: Rock Beach is the popular stretch of beachfront in the city of Puducherry, India, along the Bay of Bengal. It is a 1.2-kilometre-long stretch in Pondicherry, starts from War Memorial and end at Dupleix Park on the Goubert Avenue.
  • Sri Aurobindo Ashram: The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. The ashram grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he retired from politics and settled in Pondicherry in 1910.
  • Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple: Manakula Vinayagar Temple is a Hindu temple in the Union Territory of Puducherry, India. Dedicated to the god Ganesa, it is a popular pilgrimage site and tourist destination in Puducherry. The temple is of considerable antiquity and predates French occupation of the territory.
  • French Colony: As Pondicherrywas once the largest French colony in India until 1954. Pondicherry gives us a close sense of French culture and its architecture.
  • Rock Beach: Rock Beachis one of Pondicherry’s best-kept and most popular beaches. There is a rock beach as well as a sandy area where one can walk right up to the water.
  • New Light House: A lighthouse was constructed in Pondicherry in the nineteenth century by the French rulers. A new lighthouse was constructed in 20th century by the government of India. The old lighthouse had first beamed light on 1 September 1836. The new lighthouse started functioning in 1979.
  • Mahatma Gandhi Statue: A white structure surrounded by granite pillars houses a bronze statue of the independence leader.
  • Puducherry Museum: The Pondicherry Museum is an art and history museum located in Pondicherry, India. It is especially noted for its collection of fine lost wax bronzes form the period of the Chola Empire. The Museum’s collection includes 81 Chola bronze sculptures, ranking as one of the largest collections of Chola bronzes.
  • Our Lady of Angels Church: Our Lady of Angels Church is the fourth oldest church in Puducherry, a Union territory in South India. The original structure was built in Greco Roman architecture by Napoleon III in 1855, with the architect being Louis Guerre.
  • Sri Karaneswar Nataraja Pyramid Temple: Sri Karaneswar Nataraja Templeis dedicated to Lord Shiva. And it’s probably the most peculiar-looking temple in the world.

Day 05: Pondicherry to back home.

  • After breakfast drive back to Chennai and drop at your desired location, Airport/Bus Station / Railway station and tour concludes with happy memories.
